In 1994 Jurgen Schultz, Norman Kohls,and Tollie Jordaan selected 400 Boer goats from over the whole of South Africa. These Boer goats, of very high quality were carefully chosen from the best South Africa had to offer.

CODI (Camelids of Delaware, Inc) was the name of Jurgen's export company, and PCI stands for Pet Center International who handled the Customs paperwork.

The goats were in quarantine in Key West. FL and then at Lampasas, TX. At the end of the quarantine, Don Smith and Norman Kohls helped Jurgen Schultz with the sale of the animals and their offspring.

Since the Lampasas sale these original, imported South African foundation genetics have been used to produce some of the top Boer goats the world has seen, but these genetics have also been out-crossed so much that the style and character of the first imports have been nearly lost and are at a premium.

We hear commercial producers complaining that they aren't getting the gains the used to get; that mass and volume is lacking in their Boer herds. It's time to look back to the meat goat industry's roots in America...the original Codi/PCI quarantine herd. The injection of Codi/PCI genetics into a herd helps add the mass, gains and ultimately the profitability that all producers strive for.

The consistency from a production standpoint is unmatched. We've found that a line-bred "Codi" buck can produce a consistent phenotype (physical characteristics) regardless of the dam covered. Through careful line-breeding we strengthen these influences in our herd. Uniformity is important for every producer and this is an excellent way to build a productive herd regardless of your market.

We own and manage the largest herd of Full South African, Straight Codi /PCI Boer Goats in the Eastern United States. Our animals were carefully line-bred and selected for their conformation, breed character and hardiness. The "Codi" goats we raise are a style of goat that carries thickness of frame, depth of body and are excellent on feet and legs.

To maintain the integrity of the breed and to stay competitive we paper only the best Codi goats we produce.We cull hard and sell the remainder for commercial production or meat.
