DOE BASE

MAX Boer Goats’ “Doe Base” consists of Traditionals, Reds, Paints, Blacks and Dappled and Spotted Boer Does.

The majority of our doe herd are animals that we have produced; however each year we try to add a few select does to our herd.

Regardless of color, our Herd Does are chosen for their conformation, maternal nature and hardiness, in addition to their bloodlines. Our breeding does are well managed and kept in production throughout their adult life.

We will show young stock until it reaches about a year of age, then they are retired from the show ring and begin their breeding career.

All freshening is done inside the barns. Wireless cameras allow us to closely monitor expectant does and newborn kids. Doe and kids are moved to the pasture when the kids are 3 days to one week old.

We do not flush; all our animals are conceived naturally. We cull hard and offer for sale only animals that we would use in our own breeding program.

*We do not price or sell any kids until an adjustment period after weaning. At this time our first culls are made and animals offered for sale are evaluated and priced.

We welcome inquiries, and advise that if you are looking for a certain bloodline or a special coloration to contact us. Many times animals are sold before ever reaching the For Sale pages.

*Occasionally we offer mature does for sale, whose daughters we have retained.
